Hurdles for any Santos bidder.

Dec 08, 2008 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- China National Petroleum Corporation is rumoured to be interested in acquiring oil and gas group Santos, although experts note that this would be hard to gain approval for from competition regulators if they take into account the gas market. Santos is a major player in coalbed methane and also has plans for more LNG projects. On 8 December 2008 its stock closed at $A13.25, up $A1.10 for the day.
