Veteran cop arrested over crime link.

May 26, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Charges of perverting the course of justice, improper disclosure of information and misconduct by a public official have been laid against a long-serving member of Victoria Police, following allegations he consorted with a drug trafficker. However, no involvement in the actual narcotics trade by the officer is being claimed by the Ethical Standards Department. Bail has been granted until a hearing in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on 29 May 2009.
