Jun 03, 2009 (The Advertiser - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Budget to be handed down on 4 June 2009 by South Australian Treasurer Mike Foley will contain an additional $A343m in spending measures for the health care sector. Meanwhile the Public Service Association has issued modelling that claims the planned reduction by 1,600 positions of the state's civil service will have knock-on effects for the wider economy and cause another 3,700 private sector jobs to disappear.
