Jun 03, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Retailers have launched a campaign against the Australian Government's plans to introduce a new industrial award for the sector. Woolworths CEO, Michael Luscombe, said the retailer could be forced to cut up to 1,000 full-time jobs in response to the plan, while Bunnings COO, Peter Davis, said the hardware retailer may restructure permanent jobs. Coles Group MD, Ian McLeod, and David Jones CEO, Mark McInnes, also expressed concern about the proposed changes.
