Clayton Utz's head executive partner, David Fagan, views large-scale cuts as inappropriate given the recent war for talent. Insiders allege that redundancies at Minter Ellison were not handled well. A limited number of law firms have escaped significant retrenchments, including Gilbert Tobin and Maddocks.
