Jun 18, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Horticultural Exporters' Association has warned that a Federal Government proposal to increase quarantine inspection fees will result in job losses in the export trade. The Government argues that the higher fees are needed to help finance a raft of reforms to quarantine services. The Government also plans to abolish a 40 per cent subsidy for quarantine inspection and certification services.
