Jun 21, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Seven Network has failed in its attempt to secure a contract with US-based Warner Bros. Warner is the world's most prolific producer of TV programs. In late June 2009, Warner signed a new contract with Seven's rival, the Nine Network. Nine will spend about $A500m on the eight-year contract, which will replace a contract expiring in December. Nine CEO, David Gyngell, says the new deal allows Nine to show Warner Bros programs on both its main and digital channels.
