Woolies grasps liquor prize in virgin territory.

Jun 22, 2009 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The struggling National Leisure & Gaming has divested two pub assets in Queensland for $A12.5m to Australian Leisure & Hospitality. The off-shoot of the Woolworths retail group will now be able to run three bottle shops and open three more liquor outlets in the region, where it had been under-represented. Experts also say Woolworths is keen to make such acquisitions before they are ruled out by pending competition law changes.
