Jun 22, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Andrew Semple, ex-private client adviser at Goldman Sachs JBWere, has provided expert testimony in the Supreme Court of Victoria case involving Merrill Lynch's stockbroking offshoot Berndale Securities. Investor David Waterhouse is seeking $A3.9m, while Berndale is also suing him for an allegedly outstanding $A9.8m. Semple has told the court that Berndale had no reason to continue trading with a Waterhouse account that was supposed to have been closed.
