Rees backs domain names for cities.

Jun 22, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Debate about alterations to how internet addresses are written has featured at the ICANN conference in Sydney. Nathan Rees, the New South Wales Premier, supports the purchase of geographic domain names for cities. NetChoice's Steve DelBianco says many interest groups oppose the idea of the governments being granted control of domain names of geographic significance.
