Industrial Maintenance & Plant Operation, November, 2000

Autoliv, Inc., has said it will lay off 320 employees from its automotive leadwire assembly plant in North Ogden, UT. The layoffs were triggered by the sale of the leadwire business, which produces components used to connect automotive airbags, to Tyco Electronics Corp. Tyco will move the business to Mexico.

The North Ogden plant employs 6,700 workers and is one of seven operated in the state by Swedish-owned Autoliv.
