The Alabama Department of Environmental Management has awarded 3M's Decatur, AL, manufacturing plant its Director's Award in Pollution Prevention for superior performance in pollution control had prevention. (News Briefs).

* The Alabama Department of Environmental Management has awarded 3M's Decatur, AL, manufacturing plant its Director's Award in Pollution Prevention for superior performance in pollution control had prevention. The ISO 14000-certified plant, operated by Dyneon, a 3M company, produces fluoroelastomers, specialty films and chemicals.
According to Dyneon, the facility has prevented 79 million lbs. of pollution and 412 million gal. of wastewater from entering the environment since 1976, saving the company more than $72 million.
