Briggs & Stratton Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Simplicity Manufacturing, Inc., of Port Washington, WI, lot $227.5 million. Simplicity manufactures outdoor power equipment for consumers and professionals under the brand names Simplicity, Snapper, Ferris, and Giant-Vat.
Milwaukee, WI-based Briggs and Stratton is the world's largest producer of air-cooled gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment. The transaction is expected to close early next year.
