AH&LA'S BIG CHANGES Major transition might not begin to describe the changes at the Washington-based American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA). First is the new name and logo, ratified last November by its members, most of whom probably had always known the national trade association as the American Hotel & Motel Association. The group says the change, which took full effect at the AH&LA annual conference in Chicago in April, better reflects the diverse membership of the organization.

Similarly updated are the names for affiliate groups American Hotel Foundation and the Educational Institute, which are now known as the American Hotel & Lodging Foundation (AH&LF) and the American Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Institute.
