Eric Pfeffer was elected president of the International Hotel & Restaurant Association (IH&RA) at the association's general assembly, which convened in London on November 16, 2001. Pfeffer previously served as IH&RA vice president in 1997 and as IH&RA president in 1998.
Pfeffer's name is well recognized around the world. He served for three years as chairman and CEO of the Cendant Corporation's Hotel Division, the largest hotel franchise. He now acts as advisor on international franchising to Steve Holmes, chairman of the Cendant Hospitality Division.
