Wyndham International, Dallas, has sold 14 non-strategic assets, which do not carry the Wyndham name, to Sunstone Hotel Investors for US$516.5 million. The deal allows Wyndham to pay down debt while helping Sunstone grow its national presence. Meanwhile, Wyndham is focusing on expanding its Summerfield Suites extended-stay brand and is looking to do a master franchise agreement that would grow the 38-property portfolio by 50 or more in the next three to four years.
