Hilton International and Scandic launch franchise initiative.(Europe)(Brief Article)

Hilton International, London, will roll out a new franchise initiative with mid-market player Scandic. While Hilton operates nearly 140 Scandic branded hotels across Scandinavia, this initiative represents a new franchising opportunity for the company, which to date has had little franchising experience--predominately in the Caribbean and India. In an effort to grow this business, Hilton International has been working to develop a franchise business model with the help of its U.S. partner, Hilton Hotels Corp.

In other news, Hilton International also announced plans to further expand its resort portfolio, with the goal of adding 14 properties over the next 36 months, as well as an additional franchise agreement in El Salvador with Princess Hotels & Resorts Corp.
