GREEN BAY, WI -- ShopKo's new full-service distribution facility in Omaha, NE, has begun operation, serving 35 ShopKo stores in six states. The 394,000-square-foot facility replaces the company's existing 52,500-square-foot facility in Omaha. The fully mechanized center features a state-of-the-art conveyor system and has the capacity to serve 62 stores.
"This new facility allows ShopKo to pursue growth opportunities in this geographical area, improve service to the stores, reduce baekstoeks and optimize network inventories," said Bill Podany, chairman, president and ceo.
