NEW YORK -- What's this? Ralph Lauren products at Bed Bath & Beyond? A year ago, Ralph Lauren Home quashed an initiative that would have created a new licensed line of home textiles for the specialty retail channel. So the sight of Ralph Lauren Classic pillows at the Bed Bath & Beyond store on 18th Street in Manhattan last week came as a surprise.
Could this mean the re-inauguration of the plan? The answer, according to Ralph Lauren Home, is no. "Ralph Lauren Home has not expanded its channels of distribution nor has it authorized any of its licensees to sell our products to Bed Bath & Beyond or any other national specialty store chain," a spokeswoman said. "Polo Ralph Lauren is currently in the process of exploring the source of supply."
