Dalton, Ga. -- Shaw Industries Group Inc. has agreed to purchase the U.S. nylon carpet fibers business from Honeywell International. The deal, which is subject to Hart-Scott-Rodino regulatory review, is expected to close during this year's fourth quarter. The financial terms were not disclosed.
Shaw is set to acquire Honeywell's Zeftron nylon and Anso nylon trademarked brand name fiber manufacturing operations in South Carolina, located in Anderson, Clemson and Columbia. Shaw will also gain Honeywell's 50 percent stake in Evergreen Nylon Recycling, based in Augusta, Ga. Honeywell's nylon fiber operations in Shanghai, China, and Arnprior, Canada, and its textile operations in Anderson, S.C., are not part of the transaction. Finally, the deal also...
