DHS AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY have awarded a $10 million grant to Michigan State University to establish a Center for Advancing Microbial Risk Assessment. The center's mission will be to develop models and tools that can reduce or eliminate the health impacts of terrorists' use of biological agents.

The center also will create a national information network to distribute microbial risk assessment material. Contact: DHS, (202) 282-8010, www.dhs.gov.
