The dazzling finish on 16,000-sq-ft of concrete floor surrounding two presses at Brown Printing Company's manufacturing division in East Greenville, Pa. is both a housekeeping advantage and a marketing tool. "We installed this floor finish primarily to improve pressroom cleanliness. But we found that visiting customers are really impressed by the cleanliness of this plant because the appearance of the floor is so outstanding," says Todd McFarland, plant technical manager.
McFarland says the finish consists of a gray-colored 100% solids epoxy floor coating topcoated with a super high gloss clear polyurethane layer. Both coatings are products of the RustOleum Corporation and supplied by Grainger, a nationwide industrial distributor. Brown poured the...
