UPS RATES ON THE RISE
The domestic ground service rates of United Parcel Service (UPS) are on the rise. The nation's largest motor common carrier of property is implementing its first increase in over a year Feb. 12.
According to UPS officials, the increase will average 4.4 percent, and will have the greatest effect on lightweight packages. The percentage increases hit packages weighing under 20 lbs. the most, while increases on packages weighing between 20 to 70 lbs. will be minimal -- around 1 percent.
