Enesco acquires Halcyon Days. (Up Front).(Brief Article)

Itasca, IL -- Enesco Group Inc. purchased giftware and home accessories manufacturer Bilston & Battersea Enamels PLC of Bilston, England, through its European subsidiary Enesco Holdings Ltd. Enesco paid $4 million in cash for the company, which generated sales of approximately $10 million in 2002.

The acquisition gives Enesco more product lines with high-end price points, as well as an entry into larger high-end retail markets with the Halcyon Days brands of hand-decorated enamels and sculptural boxes, which currently account for one-third of B&B's sales. Bilston & Battersea will maintain its headquarters in Bilston.
