Thales Navigation (Carquefou, France) has launched three new handheld GPS navigation systems for its Magellan eXplorist series the eXplorist 400, eXplorist 500 and the eXplorist 600. The new models offer positioning, high-level functionality and simple handling and an extended memory via SD card. The 500 and 600 models are also equipped with TFT screens for displaying maps at a high definition. Another new feature is file management with which users can file information such as routes and points of interest. Users can also carry out area and boundary calculations, along with vertical profiles of paths.
