Reinhold Lutz Senior Vice President Earth Observation, Navigation & Science, EADS Astrium, Managing Director, EADS Astrium GmbH began by indicating the advances being made in the CHAD / Sudan region, where water is one of the most serious problems. New radar images and geographic information are helping to locate water--down to 20 meters using L-Band radar in this case.
