Alloptic introduces redundant GEPON ONT.(NEW PRODUCTS)

Alloptic, a provider of Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network (GEPON) access platforms, has introduced its Xgen6000, a redundant Gigabit Ethernet optical network terminal (ONT). The company says the ONT is designed to operate on ITU-standard passive optical networks (PON), and to support redundant fiber feeds, providing "SONET reliability with PON economics." "With GEPON's rapid acceptance and deployment around the world, network operators are leveraging the value of GEPON technology to provide subscribers converged network services," maintains Tom Warner, CTO of Alloptic.
