Schools that share their facilities with the public can strengthen bonds with the neighborhoods they serve. During the day, 400 children fill the hallways and classrooms of Tomahawk Ridge Elementary School in Overland Park, Kan. But after the final bell rings and buses are taking the children home, the building they have left behind still courses with activity.
