Evaluation Engineering, July, 2003

The Semiconductor Test Consortium (STC) has released the first draft of the specification for OPENSTAR[TM], the Open Semiconductor Test Architecture. This draft outlines the architecture's technological features and merits including software, hardware, interfaces, and integration characteristics.

The STC also released the first document focusing on development kits for both hardware and software and plans for product validation procedures and hardware and software support services. The STC, formed in July 2002, is an industry-wide initiative formed to develop a common test architecture that is open, documented, and supported by solutions available from all ATE vendors. www.semitest.org
