The 6,305-lb. KX71-3 features a V1505 four-cylinder engine rated at 27.5 hp at 2,300 rpm. Its long arm provides a 9-ft. 9-in. digging depth. Arm breakout force is 3,274 lbs. with a bucket breakout force of 6,349 lbs. Overall width is under 5 ft. with a tailswing overhang of just 18 in. for easy operation in narrow spaces or around obstacles. Variable-displacement pumps automatically adjust oil flow and pressure to the work load. An Intelligent Control System (KICS) displays easy to understand diagnostic readings on a digital panel.
