When it comes to ARM-based embedded processors, most people think of simple cores running in cellphones, PDAs, or other handheld devices. Sehat Sutardja, president and CEO of Marvell, would like to change that view. His company wants you to think of powerful ARM processor cores that can compete with MIPS and PowerPC. At the Spring Processor Forum, Marvell disclosed such a core and processor - Feroceon. This new processor makes some significant changes to the standard ARM pipeline.
