SEI to target rich investors with hybrid wraps.

Program blends fund, separate-account types SEI Investments is combining two hot investment programs into anew hybrid in a bid to be more competitive in an increasingly crowded market. The company is blending mutual fund wrap accounts and separate-account money management into a crossbreed to offer to the 2,500 or so firms that use its program.

SEI is well known for selling wrap accounts that feature its institutional mutual funds to investment advisers and independent broker-dealers. It will roll out the new plan to its client firms by the end of the year.
