Byline: Jeff Benjamin, Rick Miller and Sara Hansard Hedge fund investors are playing it close to the vest by pouring money into some of the more conservative absolute-return strategies. According to a recent survey of hedge fund managers, equity and equity market-neutral strategies, which are designed to reduce risk exposure, were the most popular hedge fund styles during the first quarter.
The survey, conducted by LJH Global Investments LLC of Naples, Fla., found that the total dollars invested in all hedge fund strategies in the first quarter more than doubled from the amount invested during the fourth quarter of 2002.
