Indy brokers look to beef up branch offices; Linsco has added a recruiting service.(News)

Byline: Bruce Kelly NEW YORK - Pushed by compliance demands and growth strategies, leading independent broker-dealers are looking to fortify their branch-office systems. Firms are using a variety of tactics to give their branch offices - referred to as OSJs because of their status in the industry as offices of supervisory jurisdiction - better services both to satisfy regulators and to increase revenue.

The plans range from hiring outside talent to training managers to building a database of job postings for financial planners looking to join a branch.
