Steve Oristaglio, 49, Friday announced that he will retire later this year as head of investments at Boston-based Putnam Investments LLC. Kevin Cronin, who has served as the firm's deputy head of investments since July, has been named as his replacement, effective immediately. "Though we regret Steve's decision to leave Putnam, I admire that he is taking the opportunity to follow his many interests,'' Charles "Ed'' Haldeman Jr., Putnam's chief executive, said in a statement.
