The Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. said Friday that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Instinet Group Inc. Both are based in New York. In addition, Nasdaq said that it had concurrently entered into a definitive agreement to sell Instinet's institutional-broker division to Silver Lake Partners of Menlo Park, Calif., and New York.
