Realtek Semiconductor Corp. and C-Media Electronics Inc. announced a series of HD audio codec ICs which use a combination of the former's mixed-signal process technology and the latter's multimedia multi-channel audio software technology. The new products--ALC260, ALC880/ALC880D and CMI9880--provide PC users with a full immersion audio experience and integrate quality consumer audio electronics with PC multimedia applications.

Adopting Dolby Laboratories latest digital audio technology (ALC880D & CMI9880), the new PC audio solutions advance PC sound playback and enable PCs to fully support emerging digital formats and devices.
