Teledyne opens center. (Apple Computer and Teledyne plan factories in Israel)

Apple Computers is considering opening a center in Israel. During his recent visit to the U.S., Minister of Finance Avraham Shochat visited California' Silicon Valley, where he met with Apple President John Sculley. Sculley said he plans to send a team which will examine the possibilities of opening a center in Israel.

Also attending the meeting with Sculley was Yozma President Yigal Erlich. Schochat also met with the heads of the Teledyne Corp, which manufactures electronic goods for the military and civilian industries. Teledyne Vice President Hudson Drake indicated his intention to open an R&D center in Israel and plans to send a group of Teledyne executives to Israel shortly. Shochat also met with Japanese representatives of Mitsubishi, Canon and Bank Sakura.
