Eldan advertises on CNN. (Eldan Transport Ltd. becomes first Israeli company to advertise on CNN International)

Car rental agency Eldan Transport Ltd is to become the first Israeli firm to advertise on CNN. The company's London branch placed the advertising via CNN Europe since the target audience is in Western Europe. For $75,000, the company will receive 30 second commercials during prime viewing hours on the all-news network. The airing of the commercials will begin after Eldan completes a careful check of the legal issues involved, since the Minister of Communication has barred local cable companies from broadcasting commercials. Until now, most Israeli companies that broadcast on cable TV did so via the Star satellite. CNN has a local Israeli commercial representative, and is one of the few companies that receives royalties from local cable channels.
