Beating the greenhouse effect. (Ginegar Plastic Products develops Sun Selector Capper, plastic sheets)

Engineers from the Kibbutz Ginegar's Ginegar Plastic Products factory have developed a triple-layered, copper-strengthened plastic sheet which may provide a solution to problems involved in raising greenhouse plants. Called the Sun Selector Capper, it may be used as a plastic shading and as a thermal covering in greenhouses for plants such as house plants, which need shade. The Sun Selector Capper allows the proper amount of sun needed for photosynthesis to enter the greenhouse, cutting out unnecessary rays.
The new plastic sheet serves as a thermal covering during the winter, keeping the temperature at the proper level and saving energy costs by 35 percent.
