The Herzliya Medical Center (HMC) is negotiating with health- service providers in Persian Gulf states to send approximately 100 patients per month for surgery and treatment, both at the center and at its branch in Haifa. At present approximately 100 patients arrive at Israel's hospitals from Arab countries each year.
The Israel Ministry of Health expects the peace accords to increase significantly the number of patients from neighboring Arab countries seeking medical treatment in Israel. To this end, the ministry has set up teams to prepare for the influx.
