Agis buys U.S. pharmaceutical company. (Agis Industries Ltd.)

Agis Industries is to buy a U.S.-based pharmaceutical company for $40-$45 million, in an attempt to expand the Israeli company's market abroad. Agis officials would not disclose the name of the U.S. company. However, the U.S. company is said to be a manufacturer of drugs not patented in the U.S., with sales revenues of $50 million for 1993.

Agis is also negotiating to acquire pharmaceutical companies in Germany and France, as part of its effort to broaden its overseas market.

Bnei Brak-based Agis Industries (1983) Ltd manufactures medicines and pharmaceuticals.
