Palestinian airline to be under Israeli authority.
Israel Business Today, May, 1994
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Ministry of Transportation will be solely responsible for regulating the Palestinian airline to be set up under the recently signed Israel-PLO economic agreement. Transportation Minister Yisrael Kessar gave the green light to set up the firm, but made it clear the company will only be allowed to operate under full Israeli supervision. The Authority is said to be treating the proposed Palestinian airline as it would any other airline requesting permission to operate in Israel.
The Civil Aviation Authority is checking the possibility of using the Atarot Airport, near Jerusalem, as one of the primary departure points for the new airline.
