Concern over China-Israel Ties. (US questions connection between Israel Aircraft Industries and the Chinese Ministry of Defense)

U.S. officials have expressed concern about the close ties between Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and the Chinese Ministry of Defense, with regards to the JX-10 plane developed by the Chinese Air Force. The fighter is based on the Lavi, produced by IAI. Flight weekly said that IAI and the Chinese Air Force have received funding from the Chinese government, and the U.S. is concerned over the possible transfer of U.S. technology to China in the course of the development. In response, Israel has claimed that its partnership in the Chinese fighter project does not infringe upon laws governing the transfer of U.S. technology, as the Chinese version of the Lavi is based on Israeli technology.
