American oil company, Enron, who operate in Qatar is offering to sell Israel natural gas at $3.9 per million BTU. The price includes shipping costs, in liquid form (LNG) and sublimation costs. Natural gas prices in Europe, through pipes, are around $2.6 per million BTU. Israeli Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Gonen Segev, has denied rumors that a deal with Enron has been decided on.
