Soros Will Close His Emerging Market Fund.

The international billionaire financier George Soros has decided to close Quantum Emerging Growth and Emerging Dolphin funds. Both of these funds have been hit by the world emerging market crisis and have dropped in value this year by billions of dollars. Mr. Soros claims that the performance of these funds is not the reason for his decision to close them, but is part of a company - wide strategic restructuring plan.
He does not think one year's results can speak for the success of a fund. He points to the average 34 percent annual returns his funds have had since 1969 as the true yardstick of how investors have profited with his funds.
