Comverse one of Israel's best and most successful high tech company is planning on opening another plant that will employ 500 employees and produce $150 million of high tech telecommunications equipment a year. While this is good news, the not-so-good-news is that Comverse may choose to open this plant in Ireland instead of in Israel.
Ireland has become a high tech center that is a strong rival to Israel. By offering high-tech firms better assistance, Ireland is drawing more high tech firms to its shores and away from opening additional plants in Israel.
