Nokia won a contract from Israeli cellular telecommunications company, Partner Communications, to supply the company with thousands of handsets that support wireless applications protocol (WAP). WAP technology allows users to access information instantly via handheld wireless equipment. Handsets can also be connected to palm displays and provide access to the internet and data bases.

Partner plans on offering its clients in Israel the handsets as part of a total telecommunications package.
