Cost and easy inspection favor fine-line boards vs multilayer In the design of high-density circuit boards, the mature multilayer approach is facing a growing challenge from fine-line technology. Lower production costs and ease of design favor fine line, proponents argue, and now one company has demonstrated the ability to render a density of five lines within 0.1 in., rendering the technology even more competitive.
