HP's TMSL may anchor standard command set DENVER, CO--An ad hoc working group of more than a dozen instrumentation manufacturers has agreed to produce a standard instrument command set as well as a process for extending the command set for proprietary products by January 1990. Sources say the group will most likely use Hewlett-Packard's TMSL command set as its starting point, perhaps changing its name.

The group has agreed to review the document with the intent of changing it only if a technical flaw is noted. Even then, anyone noting a significant technical flaw must also propose an alternative, according to Dave Haworth, Tek's VXI program manager.
